Good Samaritan is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN - Local Traveler in Cavalier, ND.
Facility GSS ND Park River — 301 Co Rd 12B, Park River, ND 58270, USA.
Location & Schedule Park River, ND. Shift: Varies. Job Schedule: PRN. Weekly Hours: Varies.
Compensation Salary Range: $24–$36 per hour. Premium Pay:
$5/hour premium on all hours worked.
$1.25/hour weekend shift differential.
$1.25/hour evening/night shift differential (6:00 PM‑6:00 AM).
Mileage reimbursement provided. Responsibilities The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting, practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, and utilizes appropriate age and population‑specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per the care plan. Responsibilities include:
Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the necessary care.
Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to assist in emergent situations.
Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public.
Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
Develop self‑care programs based on resident education principles.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; an associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
Currently hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges.
For positions requiring IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota, graduation from a board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
Obtain and subsequently maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications, and complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
