Maintains mechanical equipment for the production and packaging of evaporated salt. Two employees are to have continuous coverage.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Troubleshoots and repairs equipment.
Proper installation of all equipment
Receive and inventory spare and replacement parts, organize and store in a proper manner as directed by management.
Maintain work area(s) in a clean and safe manner. Maintains housekeeping in assigned areas to plant and AIB standards.
Must possess or obtain a valid DMME general mineral miner card (within the first 6 months of employment).
Light fabrication and welding of equipment, pipe, mounting frames, and supports.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.
Maintain PM records, check lists, work permits, and other plant documents as needed.
Operation and inspection of mobile equipment per Virginia Energy regulations.
Perform inspections and testing of equipment.
Repairs equipment such as, but not limited to: Boiler, Centrifuge, Dryer, Compressors, Conveyors, Bagger, Palletizer, Wrapper, and Shakers.
Prepare PM sheets and documentation for equipment.
Perform call-outs during off-hours to maintain salt production and packaging.
Safety inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
Employee will participate in all required training. Employee are to keep all of their training current and up to date.
Other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED ; or five years of related experience and / or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
