Highland Family Medicine is seeking Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Residents for its 2026-27 class. Candidates for this role will complete a 1‑year FNP residency with our Highland Family Medicine team. The cohort will begin residency the first week of September 2026 and will run through August 31, 2027. The opportunity to remain as a permanent FNP after residency is possible. Residency Highlights

Advanced Nurse Education Nurse Practitioner Residency funded position; loan forgiveness may be available. Direct patient care across the lifespan in precepted continuity clinics. Apply clinical practice and Family Medicine guidelines, protocols, and procedures. Guided by state and federal laws, DEA regulations, and the New York State Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act. Structured post‑graduate residency training: specialty clinic rotations, weekly formal learning sessions on complex clinical challenges, chronic disease management, inter‑professional population health projects, didactic leadership training, and team quality improvement cycles. Practice call starts about four months into the program and runs over a 6‑month duration. For Consideration, Applicants Will Need To Provide

Urban track residents will be expected to travel five days throughout the residency year, typically to our rural health partner at TCFM in Dansville or Canaseraga, NY. Most specialty rotations are in Rochester; however, travel to Brockport or Canandaigua may also be required. Travel reimbursement is not available for the urban track. Salary Range

$82,430.00 annually. Job Requirements

Education: Licensed Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). National certification in Family Practice preferred. Experience: 3-5 years experience as a registered nurse prior to completing a Master's program desired. License/Certification Required: Licensed nurse practitioner in New York for specialty practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner with full prescriptive privileges at the start of the residency program. Active registration by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe Category II through V drugs. BLS certified. Employment Status
