Mental Health Counselor (licensed or license eligible)
Full‑time Counselor position is available with Liberty Healthcare and the Indiana Sex Offender Management and Monitoring Program. The program promotes public safety by reducing recidivism among convicted adult and adjudicated sexual offenders. In this role you will provide in‑person behavioral health services to adult inmates onsite at the New Castle Correctional Facility, IN.
Responsibilities Your specific responsibilities include:
Providing clients with information about the SOMM program
Evaluating clients to determine changes in risk level, progress in treatment, and overall motivation for participation in the program
Monitoring clients for psychosexual, mental health and behavioral health problems
Performing risk evaluations within the scope of licensure
Facilitating sex offender treatment and psycho‑educational group sessions, based on the program’s curriculum
Participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and training activities
Providing consultation to program and security staff
Documenting client progress notes, writing reports and compiling utilization statistics
Qualifications To qualify for this position you must be able to obtain Professional Licensure in Indiana within the next 24 months or currently hold one of the following:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP)
Relevant experience is preferred but not required. Initial and ongoing training and continuing education specific to sex‑offender treatment will be provided.
You must be able to commit to working Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm onsite at the New Castle Correctional Facility.
