Job Summary:

The Tool Install (TI) Construction Manager will lead the planning and execution of tool installation projects to support high‑tech manufacturing facility development. This role will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Manufacturing and Production Engineering, to enhance production efficiency and streamline construction efforts. The ideal candidate will apply innovative solutions to drive process optimization, cost control, and schedule performance. A strong understanding of complex construction systems and stakeholder coordination is essential in this dynamic and fast‑paced environment.

Essential Duties:

Project Coordination & Planning

Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturing space readiness with Factory EPC, Facilities, and Commissioning teams

Develop and oversee site logistics and project plans including system sequencing, laydown areas, crane operations, and tool move‑in strategies

Coordinate and manage tool rigging and millwright services when not provided by vendors

Design & Technical Support

Collaborate with Manufacturing and Design teams for design development and tool vendor integration

Review design documentation for constructability and validate tool utility connections and room requirements

Procurement & Budget Management

Prepare and verify biddable work packages (RFPs) in coordination with local Procurement teams

Review contractor bids for technical capacity, cost, and schedule alignment

Support Estimating and Engineering teams with funding requests and project scope changes

Communication & Compliance

Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders

Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and construction standards

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications Education

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline

Essential Qualifications

5+ years of experience managing or supporting large‑scale industrial construction projects (e.g., Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Semiconductors, or similar high‑tech sectors)

Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and coordinating scopes, schedules, and budgets

In‑depth knowledge of MEP systems, specialty gases, and applicable building codes and life safety standards

Familiar with permitting processes and construction safety regulations

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams through all phases of project execution, from design through commissioning

Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with engineers, contractors, and commissioning teams

Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple fast‑paced projects with high attention to detail and organizational efficiency

Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application to facility and tool installation planning

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience in industrial construction within high‑tech environments such as lithium‑ion battery manufacturing, semiconductors, data centers, or pharmaceuticals

Advanced understanding of cleanroom construction, tool install logistics, and utility interconnects

Experience managing full project lifecycles including scope development, contractor oversight, and closeout documentation

Proficiency in lean construction practices and application of Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies

Formal training or certification in project management

Prior involvement in commissioning, factory startup, or manufacturing ramp‑up phases

Familiarity with integrated project delivery (IPD) or collaborative delivery models

Experience with digital construction tools (e.g., BIM, Procore, Navisworks) for project coordination and clash detection
