Come work with multidisciplinary engineers focused on delivering world‑class Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. You will be responsible for designing solutions that support the Organization. As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse workforce responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of MGSE.

Job Responsibilities

Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.

Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.

Collaborate with peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.

Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error‑free, affordable and producible engineering designs.

Basic Qualifications

Mechanical design experience that includes the interpretation of engineering design drawings.

Experience with engineering CAD tools (Creo, Solid Works, etc.) and model‑based product definition.

Knowledge of industrial standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS (including AWS weld symbiology).

Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.

Knowledge/understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Desired Skills

Experience in Mechanical Ground Support Equipment for transportation and assembly of launch vehicles/payloads.

Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical systems.

Experience with application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.

Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Experience with Engineering Data Product release process within the Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system.

Knowledge of LM Space command media.

Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.

Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Travel up to 10% of time and ability to obtain a DOD security clearance is required.

Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40‑hour work weeks over five days while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our paid time‑off benefits.

National Pay Statement Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 – $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
