Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing core accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financial processes. This position partners closely with FP&A, operations, and senior leadership to support month-end close, financial reporting, and ongoing process improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience in a CPG or similar product-based environment, and hands‑on proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms. Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Execute and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and accruals Maintain accurate general ledger records in compliance with U.S. GAAP Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages Accounting Operations Manage balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, AR, AP, inventory, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets Assist with revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and COGS analysis Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting Act as a key system user for Certinia/FinancialForce, ensuring data accuracy and process integrity Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen internal controls Contribute to the development of scalable accounting processes to support ongoing business growth Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of public accounting experience
OR
5+ years of private accounting experience (CPG, beauty, retail, or consumer products preferred) Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices Hands‑on experience with Certinia (FinancialForce) or similar cloud‑based ERP systems Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations and data analysis Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills
