Director of Sports Information

Monroe University is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as the Director of Sports Information. This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Sports Information Office, including the promotion and media coverage of the University’s 18 varsity and junior varsity athletic programs. The role requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Monroe University Athletics is currently transitioning from NJCAA Division I to NCAA Division II competition.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the official athletics website: http://monroeumustangs.com.
Oversee and update all official Monroe Mustangs social media platforms.
Provide live statistics for home athletic events and compile/report statistics for away contests.
Coordinate live video streaming for all home competitions.
Serve as the primary liaison between student-athletes, coaches, and media representatives.
Utilize graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) to create promotional materials for digital and print media.
Draft and distribute press releases, game recaps, and other content for the website and media outlets.
Maintain and archive historical records, statistics, and team achievements.
Assist with event setup and breakdown for home games.
Supervise and schedule student staff for game-day operations and team travel support.
Train student workers in game-day roles and statistical reporting.
Communicate with athletic governing bodies regarding sports information requirements.
Coordinate photography for media days, senior recognitions, headshots, green screen sessions, and action shots.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with SIDEARM Sports and PrestoSports platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Production Truck, Gipper, Boxout, or similar design tools.
Experience with live streaming technologies and platforms.
Proficiency in statistical software such as PrestoStats, StatCrew, or NCAA Live Stats.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently.
Basic photography and videography capabilities.
Comfortable with public speaking and public address announcing.
