About the Role Ferguson Electric’s Project Manager – Systems Division role reports to the Manager, Systems Division all while strongly upholding and promoting the organization's core values.
Responsibilities
Build relationships with customers and introduce the complete portfolio of Ferguson services.
Collaborate across all Ferguson divisions when working with new and existing customers to ensure exceptional project delivery.
Adhere to IBEW rules and regulations and all customer, local, state and federal codes and standards.
Manage and oversee construction project lifecycle, including contracts, finances, and budgets.
Understand the full scope of a project based on contract documents and or scope letter.
Manage customer requests for estimates in a timely manner.
Manage and track the change order process to keep the project moving forward.
Prepare all invoicing per the contract and or the customer’s specific requirements.
Track project budget weekly and compare committed costs versus actual costs and estimated cost to complete.
Set up and review weekly cost codes for projects over 1,000 man-hours.
Create and manage subcontracts for necessary work on the project.
Manage multiple low voltage projects concurrently within the committed timeline and budget.
Develop new business leads with guidance from the Systems Manager.
Maintain knowledge of all low voltage systems to position and sell the complete Systems portfolio of products (Structured Cabling, Fiber Optics, AV Systems, Nurse Call Systems, CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm).
Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (construction, project management, engineering, etc.) preferred.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Five years in the commercial electrical trade, preferably running projects as a foreman.
Over 5+ years of experience managing low-voltage systems in electrical contracting or a similar industry.
Field experience coordinating with construction management.
Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) and safety regulations (NFPA 72).
Expertise in network cabling (BICSI standards), fire alarm systems (Notifier, Simplex), security systems (Lenel, Bosch), and video systems (Axis).
Experience collaborating with estimating, construction, and service teams in a contracting environment.
Ability to interpret blueprints and use design software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam) to support project planning.
Proven troubleshooting skills for low-voltage systems in field settings.
Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with diverse teams and manage manpower scheduling.
Exceptional initiative, execution and communication skills, both oral and written.
Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills.
Journeyman or Master Electrician license a plus.
Certification such as NICET (Fire Alarm Systems), BICSI Installer/Technician, or manufacturer-specific credentials are a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines.
