Position Overview Are you driven by a commitment to public safety and ready to elevate your career by putting your skills and experience to meaningful use? The Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated and results‑oriented Parole Supervisor to join our Scranton District Office team. In this key supervisory role, you will oversee the daily operations of a field supervision unit.

NOTE: Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.

Description of Work In this position, you will assign caseloads and investigations, including pre‑parole, pre‑transfer, pre‑sentence, special investigations, and other work assignments. You will review agent reports to ensure they meet established policies and procedures and reflect accuracy, clarity, quality, and timeliness. You will also conduct administrative conferences with agents, reentrants, and Corrections Re‑Entry Parole Officers to closely monitor reentry concerns, provide guidance and insight, develop appropriate sanctions, and help prevent repeat violations.

Parole Supervisor responsibilities include training parole agents, which entails working closely with agents and assisting in developing their skills, planning, and organization.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment, 40‑hour work week

Work schedule and hours to be determined. You will work holidays and weekends as required.

You must be willing to travel.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

Qualifications Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Three years as a Parole Agent 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Three years and six months of professional experience in casework or counseling of offenders, auditing of offender caseloads, or investigation, in probation, parole, corrections, or a law enforcement agency; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements

You must be in possession of an active non‑commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

You must obtain CLEAN certification within two months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment.

Other Requirements

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

A conditional offer of employment requires review of prior law enforcement employment records as required by Pennsylvania Act 57 of 2020.
