Summary The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Research Coordinator III to contribute to novel translational projects aimed at advancing our understanding of the pathology in critically ill children, particularly in the areas of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, sepsis, and cirrhotic cardiomyopathy.

Job Duties

Daily screening based on the study’s inclusion and exclusion criteria (~10%)

Oversee the study invoice process through the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) for reimbursement (~10%)

Review patient eligibility with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team (~10%)

Perform patient randomization and identify the required device through the sponsor (~10%)

Responsible for device setup and close collaboration with the unit medical team to ensure alignment with study design requirements (~20%)

Conduct daily bedside monitoring for ninety minutes following device setup (~20%)

Transmit and analyze device data; enter collected data into the database (~10%)

Assess daily monitoring documentation and report to the IRB, sponsor, and FDA as required (~10%)

Monitor patient status daily for any adverse events, serious adverse events, or complications

Conduct assessments of daily monitoring for appropriate documentation and reporting to the IRB, sponsor, and FDA, if required

Conduct initial training for new research staff

Responsible for patient data entry into the database

Perform other job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.

Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Flexible with change; skilled in multitasking and problem‑solving.

Strong critical thinking, decision‑making, organizational, prioritization, time management, and attention to detail.

Able to work effectively and independently as part of a dynamic team engaged in basic and clinical research.
