Responsibilities
EJF. 1 (35%) : Prepare reports, studies, and deliverables analyzing Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP, and TANF program data for various stakeholders.
EJF. 2 (35%) : Plan and conduct advanced research, implement statistical methods, manage project design and analysis, and write specialized scripts and code.
EJF. 3 (25%) : Consult with internal staff and other HHS agencies on reporting methods, test and evaluate new data sources, and advise on policy development impacts.
EJF. 4 (5%) : Provide statewide travel support as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
Scientific research methods and statistical techniques
Medical records systems or clinical coding practice
Proficiency in SAS, SQL, R, STATA, or similar statistical software
Database management with Microsoft SSMS, Oracle SQL Developer, or equivalents
Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills
Graphical and tabular data presentation
Verbal and written communication
Large, complex dataset manipulation and analysis
Research project planning and organization
Team collaboration across departments and agencies
Statistical chart and table development
Research findings interpretation and presentation
Independent judgment and initiative
Initial Screening Criteria
Minimum four years of college‑level education in social or behavioral sciences, natural sciences, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
Experience with data analysis using software such as SPSS, SAS, or SQL.
At least four years of work experience in collection, analysis, or dissemination of health or human services data.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position requiring 2‑3 days in the office per week.
