Overview AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP’s millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

The Marketing Manager develops marketing campaigns, communications materials, and implementation strategies that support engagement, revenue, and other organizational objectives. It ensures projects are consistent and aligned with overall marketing strategies and adjacent ongoing projects. The role tracks and assesses campaign results and adjusts marketing strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. It conducts quality control reviews of provider marketing materials to ensure compliance with AARP brand guidelines and messaging. The role collaborates with management and matrix partners to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across business objectives and KPIs. It also requires the ability to travel up to 10–15% of the time as needed.

Responsibilities

Supports internal and/or external teams and clients by creating proposals, presentations, and other materials using product/program information, data, and media insights. Assists with planning, creation, and execution of various strategic marketing communications.

Consults and collaborates with cross-functional teams, colleagues, and leadership to deliver effective programs and other client offerings that advance organizational goals.

Monitors the competitive landscape and market trends to identify new opportunities for the organization to shape products, programs, and/or services most relevant to the target audience.

Provides guidance on marketing best practices and campaign strategies to colleagues and/or external partners as necessary. Advises campaign stakeholders about next steps, opportunities, and risks based on best practices and lessons learned.

Observes, reviews, and measures the campaign outcomes, proactively elevating lessons learned to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, with 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a combination of relationship management and marketing.

Industry experience with travel, retail, and/or dining products preferred.

Experience in partner or affinity marketing and/or managing external marketing relationships.

Demonstrated strength in relationship and project management, with the ability to manage and influence multiple external vendors and business partners.

Strong direct-to-consumer marketing experience, particularly across direct response channels such as direct mail, DRTV, email, digital, and social media.

Experience leveraging first-party data and predictive or analytical models to drive campaigns, including designing and managing test-and-learn initiatives.

Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

Working knowledge of data visualization, analytics, and project management tools (e.g., Tableau or similar platforms, Monday.com or comparable workflow management tools) preferred.

Hybrid Work Environment AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
