Key Responsibilities

Weld & Fabrication Inspection – Perform visual inspection of welded components and assemblies for workmanship, profile, size, and appearance. Inspect structural and non-structural welds on fabricated parts, frames, and subassemblies. Verify weld size, location, and type against drawings and weld symbols. Identify common weld defects including undercut, porosity, lack of fusion, cracks, and excessive spatter. Service Inspection & Repair Verification – Inspect welded components that have been repaired, modified, or rebuilt during service activities. Verify service and repair welds meet original design intent, safety requirements, and quality standards. Review service documentation, repair reports, and rework records for accuracy and completeness. Support root cause analysis related to service returns, field failures, or repeat repair issues. Collaborate with service, engineering, and quality teams to identify trends and improvement opportunities tied to service work. Dimensional & Fit-Up Inspection – Verify dimensions, tolerances, and fit-up of fabricated and serviced welded assemblies. Inspect alignment, flatness, squareness, and overall geometry before and after welding or repair. Use inspection tools such as weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, and height gauges. Documentation & Blueprint Interpretation – Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and inspection criteria. Accurately document inspection results and nonconformances per quality procedures. Review work instructions, service procedures, and fabrication standards for compliance. Quality Systems & Audits – Support and participate in internal audits aligned with ISO 9001 requirements. Identify nonconformances and assist with corrective and preventive actions. Verify corrective actions are implemented and effective in both manufacturing and service environments. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement – Work closely with welding, fabrication, service, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues quickly. Provide feedback on recurring weld or service-related quality issues and recommend practical improvements. Support standardization of weld and repair practices across manufacturing and service operations. Qualifications
