The Fountain Group is currently seeking an Associate Scientist for a prominent client of ours in
Cambridge, MA . Details for the position are as follows:
Pay: $30-34/hr.
12-month assignment with possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
Responsibilities:
Support molecular biology–based screening and characterization efforts for discovery-stage biotherapeutics within the Disruptive Technologies group.
Prepare, analyze, and document biochemical reagents and samples using techniques including PCR, in vitro transcription (IVT), cell‑free protein synthesis (CFPS), SDS‑PAGE, plate‑based assays, and next‑generation sequencing (NGS).
Execute experiments following established protocols and SOPs while maintaining accurate, timely documentation of results in laboratory records.
Collaborate with cross‑functional discovery and technology teams to advance innovative platforms and experimental workflows.
Maintain laboratory organization, reagent inventory, and compliance with safety, quality, and data integrity standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in biochemistry, chemical or biomedical engineering, or related fields
required
2+ years of academic or industrial research experience
required
Experience with PCR, molecular cloning, cell free protein synthesis
required
Experience with protein expression and purification
required
Experience with analytical techniques such as SDS‑PAGE and capillary electrophoresis
required
Experience with Python and liquid handling automation
preferred
Experience with DNA library construction and NGS
preferred
Experience with binding protein characterization
preferred
