Position Summary The SMB Sales Executive is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with small to medium‑size business customers within Joink’s service areas. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, presenting customized solutions, and driving revenue growth through consultative selling of telecommunications and technology services.
Essential Functions
Identify, prospect, and qualify small business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and territory management.
Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to understand business requirements and recommend appropriate telecommunications and technology solutions.
Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals tailored to customer business objectives.
Negotiate contracts and pricing within established guidelines while maintaining profitability targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business decision‑makers, serving as their primary point of contact.
Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas and revenue targets.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
Coordinate with technical teams to ensure smooth implementation and customer onboarding.
Stay current on industry trends, competitive offerings, and Joink’s product portfolio.
Develop and execute territory plans to maximize market penetration and revenue growth.
Participate in trade shows, business networking events, and community activities to generate leads.
Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular reporting on sales activities and pipeline status.

Strong understanding of small business operations, challenges, and decision‑making processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to various audiences.
Proven consultative selling skills with ability to identify needs and provide solutions.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Technical aptitude to understand and explain telecommunications and networking concepts.
Exceptional relationship‑building and customer service skills.
Self‑motivated with strong time‑management and organizational abilities.
Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle objections effectively.
Professional demeanor with ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; or equivalent education and sales experience.
Minimum 2–3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in telecommunications, technology, or related services.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
Experience selling to small business owners and decision‑makers.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to the Joink office in Avon, Indiana.
Working Environment
Standard business hours with flexibility required for customer meetings and appointments.
Hybrid role combining office work and field sales activities.
Regular travel within assigned territory, typically 50–75% of time spent in field sales.
May require occasional evening or weekend hours for networking events or customer meetings.
Occasional travel to industry conferences, training sessions, or other company locations with reimbursable expenses.
Physical Demands
Must be able to spend extended hours using computer/keyboard and phone.
Involves prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
Requires driving personal or company vehicle for extended periods.
May need to lift and carry presentation materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
