Transportation Planner
Client: Food Manufacturing Company
Location: Wichita KS 67202
Duration: 4 months (possible extension)
Shift: Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Description Responsible for planning day-to-day packaged truck deliveries for the Salt business unit.
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning day-to-day packaged truck deliveries for the Salt business unit
Manage carrier utilization and scheduling
Handle cost and service reporting
Communicate with external and internal stakeholders
Work with Sales and Supply Chain teams to understand requirements and make best‑value delivery decisions to support customer needs
Support sourcing strategy by tendering and managing orders in SAP using tiered carrier rankings
Manage day-to-day orders from assigned plants and public warehouses
Build loads and monitor unrouted orders
Coordinate shipping and delivery dates
Handle customer add‑ons broken loads or changed loads
Log and approve carrier invoiced costs
Requirements
Degree in logistics, transportation, business or a related field and 2 years of experience
or 4 years of relevant experience
