Required Skills
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Five to ten years of applicable experience required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
Responsibilities
Occupational summary: Mentor a small team of engineers and CAD designers (approx. five team members) in general/physical layout as well as protection & control packages of substation design projects.
Serve as the senior engineer for the majority of work produced by the team and manage customer relations and business development with select clients.
Report to the divisional manager.
Requirements
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required. Five to ten years of applicable experience required. Licensed Professional Engineer.
Mentor and schedule work of junior engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the assigned team.
Act as the customer’s point of contact to manage existing projects and customer satisfaction, and to plan future business and upcoming projects.
Proficient in multiple areas of substation engineering such as physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
Perform and direct project design, including engineering calculations, computer design software usage, and adherence to engineering procedures and design manuals.
Prepare complex project documents including specifications and bid documents.
Conduct complex drawing reviews, checking and marking up full plan sets to ensure a clear, concise, and thorough graphical representation of the design intent.
Supervise work and assist in training of division Project Engineers I and II.
Perform basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Interface well with employees at all levels.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
