Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a

detail-oriented, motivated Cytotechnologist

to join our Laboratory Services team. In this role, you will provide critical diagnostic information through microscopic evaluation of body specimens, working independently and collaboratively to ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities

Screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic smears and assign appropriate diagnostic classifications

Correlate and interpret findings with physiological context

Identify and resolve issues, recommend solutions, and ensure quality

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot cytologic testing instruments

Prepare and stain slides for examination; use lab systems for reporting and test charges

Independently classify PAP smears; refer abnormal cases to pathologists

Participate in proficiency testing, quality control, and rescreening programs

Performs Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) independently for various departments throughout the hospital.

Maintain hospital safety, conduct, and regulatory standards

Starting Pay:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience

Education & Certification

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required

Registered Cytotechnologist (CT) or CT-eligible (registration required within 1 year)

West Virginia State Licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Practitioner
