The Assistant Principal provides leadership, management, and supervisory skills that promote learning for each student, working closely with the head principal, students, parents/guardians, building, and district staff.
Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college/university.
Current Kansas State Elementary Building Level Administrative Endorsement.
Current Kansas State Teaching License.

Approachable, great listener, non-judgmental feedback; values people and builds a positive culture.
Pre-existing primary teaching and/or administrative experience; knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies, and discipline strategies for K‑2.
Strong background in instructional leadership and ability to coach staff.
Effective communication skills, empathy for staff life outside school, and respectfulness in interactions.
Ability to prioritize and manage time to maintain classroom and school-wide presence.
Responsibilities
Work closely with USD 234 staff and administration.
Serve as a positive representative of the district.
Advocate, nurture, and sustain a culture and instructional program focused on student learning and staff professional growth.
Manage organizational operations and resources for a safe, efficient learning environment.
Comply with all district policies, rules, and regulations.
Communicate openly with students, community, staff, and administration.
Encourage professional growth of teachers through evaluations and support.
Administer district policies in school operations.
Maintain school records and file necessary reports.
Plan and organize the school day and year for efficient operation.
Collaborate with peers to improve the learning environment.
Perform additional duties as requested by the Superintendent and/or Board of Education.
