About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing corporate accounting, fund coordination, and compliance, as well as ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role involves collaboration with legal and operations teams on fund activities, driving strategic financial planning, and managing a team of professionals to maintain operational excellence. Key duties include overseeing the general ledger, monthly close, and financial statement preparation, leading budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, and managing HR processes. The CFO will also be involved in fund launches, restructurings, and wind-downs, and must have a strong knowledge of SEC requirements and regulatory compliance.

Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with a Master’s degree preferred, and a CPA certification is strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience is required, with a background in fund accounting or auditing asset managers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in team management and leadership, as well as experience in a prior controllership or senior accounting role in asset management. The role demands a professional with the ability to ensure SEC compliance, oversee regulatory filings, and support financial planning and reporting for the firm’s operations. The opportunity to relocate to Charleston, SC after initial NYC-based onboarding is also a key aspect of the position.
