We are seeking a certified Special Education Resource Teacher for a full-time position in the Detroit, MI area. This position is for the remainder of the school year and will begin immediately. Eligible candidates must hold Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment, Cognitive Impairment, etc.) and have up-to-date background clearances.
Qualifications:
Must hold valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
Must have a Bachelors degree (minimum requirement)
Must have up-to-date background clearances
Prior experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred
Responsibilities:
Assess students academic, behavioral, and functional skills to determine needs and guide instruction
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and school teams
Adapt lessons and materials to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities
Provide instruction and support in resource room and/or inclusion settings
Track and report student progress toward IEP goals and objectives
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure student success
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA and Michigan Department of Education requirements
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
