Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Resource Room / Special Education Teacher (2 Onsite Openings) Location: Waterford, MI (K-12) Duration: 20252026 School Year (Approx. 01/26/2026 06/12/2026) Schedule: Full time, 35 hours per week Seeking experienced Special Education Teachers for resource room and self-contained classrooms serving students from Early Learning (pre-K) through grade 12. Each classrooms caseload will be a maximum of 22 students. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in an urban school setting. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in self-contained or resource room settings. Manage classrooms focusing on Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Learning Disabilities (LD) students. Utilize knowledge of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations to ensure compliance and best practices. Collaborate with families and school teams to address the unique needs of urban students and provide appropriate resources. Prepare lesson plans, maintain accurate records, and assess student progress regularly. Qualifications: Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI) and Cognitively Impaired (CI); Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement acceptable for resource room positions. Preference for candidates with multiple Special Education endorsements, including early childhood (MDE endorsement ZA) or related areas. Demonstrated understanding of urban student challenges and culturally responsive teaching strategies. Familiarity with MARSE and IDEA special education laws and requirements.
