Schedule Part time, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Position Summary The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations on assigned bus routes, ensuring a comfortable and timely journey.
Essential Responsibilities
Operate a bus and follow designated routes and schedules.
Ensure the safety of passengers during transit, including adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus, maintaining a courteous and helpful attitude.
Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and fare payment options.
Maintain a clean and well‑maintained bus interior, including regular cleaning and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the bus to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
Report any accidents, incidents, or unusual circumstances to the appropriate authorities or supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents or delays.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including punctuality and professional appearance.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent knowledge of traffic rules and regulations.
Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with residents in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to operate and maneuver large vehicles safely.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to schedules.
Ability to handle and resolve conflicts or difficult situations with passengers.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform routine inspections.
Familiarity with local routes and destinations.
Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
Education, Training, Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus.
Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
Previous experience as a bus driver preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to climb stairs and assist passengers with boarding and disembarking.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage or other items as required.
Good vision and hearing capabilities to ensure safe operation of the bus.
