Womxn in Design (WID) Chicago is looking for experienced design professionals to serve as Mentors for our
2026 Mentorship Program . Following the success of our sister chapter in San Francisco, this 10-week program is designed to foster one-on-one relationships, bridge the gap between design disciplines, and strengthen the Chicago design community. The Role
As a Mentor, you will be paired with an emerging designer, student, or career-transitioner. Your role is to provide guidance, share industry insights, and help your mentee navigate their professional journey. Key Responsibilities
Commit to
one hour per week
for the duration of the 10-week program (March β May 2026). Provide support in areas such as
portfolio reviews, job search strategies, and skill development . Foster a respectful, confidential, and encouraging environment. Attend the program kickoff (Early March) and the final celebration (May). Qualifications
Experience:
2+ years of professional experience in any design discipline (UX/UI, Graphic, Industrial, Interior, Fashion, etc.). Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to coach others. Location:
Based in the Greater Chicago area (In-person meetings are encouraged, though virtual is an option). Commitment:
Ability to show up consistently for your mentee throughout the spring. Why Volunteer?
