Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Valdosta, Georgia. Benefits
Hourly Pay: $25.00 Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700) Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter – four times per year Sign On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days Schedule: Monday through Friday (Weekends OFF) Hours: First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Annual merit pay increases On‑the‑job paid training Medical, dental, vision, 401 k and more starting at 30 days 12 weeks paid maternity leave for qualifying employees Paid time off accrues at day one – 80 hours per year Additional day off for U.S. military veterans 401 k company match 15 % employee discount on high‑valued stock PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance provided Top Technician Recognition Program – cash prizes from $250 to $50,000 Technician tuition repayment up to $5,000 Requirements
High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or technical post‑secondary degree or certifications (preferred) Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)> Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred) Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Execute standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections and repairs, and preventive maintenance Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs Replace defective components per instructions Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints and assign tasks Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., service island support) Employment Information
