Overview Global Security (GS) group at Mission Technologies provides live, virtual, constructive solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental; and Australia business. HII designs, develops and operates the largest LVC enterprise to prepare warfighters for cross‑domain battle. With advanced technologies, HII maintains readiness across life‑cycle maritime defense systems and supports nuclear and environmental missions.

What You Will Do

Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.

Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).

Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data per guidelines in areas such as trajectory adequacy and model dimensional consistency.

Use personal computer to perform analyses and develop documentation/reports.

Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

Education / Experience What You Must Have

Engineering Technician 2: Associates Degree (or other 2‑year technical degree) plus 1 year related experience; or High School Diploma plus 3 years related DoD/USN experience.

Engineering Technician 3: Associates Degree plus 3 years experience; or High School Diploma plus 5 years related DoD/USN experience.

Engineering Technician 4: Associates Degree plus 6 years experience; or High School Diploma plus 8 years related experience.

Security Compliance & Operational Skills

Strong background in shipboard electrical or mechanical systems, heavy industrial manufacturing, or shipbuilding and testing.

Prior U.S. Navy service with technical ratings or operations aligned to nuclear or maritime engineering standards.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the required level.

U.S. Citizen.

Current or active DoD Secret Clearance required and must be maintained.

Bonus Points For Having

Experience in a skilled trade or specialized technical role within a high‑consequence environment.

Shipyard or U.S. Navy A4W propulsion and/or reactor plant construction, operation, or maintenance experience.

Working knowledge of shipyard work control processes, including proficiency with the Electronic Shift Operating Management System (eSOMS).

Active Confidential DoD Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for job requirements; waterfront office environment typical.

Ability to lift and move equipment within single‑person lift limits and climb shipboard vertical ladders.
