BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE SURGICAL HOSPITAL - FORT WORTH is looking for a high energy, results oriented, "people-first" Human Resources Director who is passionate about leading the HR function and team to achieve our mission: to attract, develop and retain top talent.The successful candidate will have a healthcare/hospital setting HR background and thrive in a hands‑on leadership role where you will lead the HR team to deliver a best‑in‑class employee experience to an employee base of approximately 350 employees. POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Human Resource Services is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function as well as Health and Patient Centeredness. The Director is responsible for the formulation, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures regarding personnel matters for BSHFW. The Director directs and coordinates human resource activities such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services including work injury and health screenings. The Director continuously works with Senior Management in meeting Facility goals.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
10 + years’ experience in human resources and 5 plus years of prior leadership/direct report experience. Experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred. Deep HR expertise including: recruiting, compensation, benefits, employee relations, coaching, training and development. In addition, we are seeking a professional with experience aligning human capital strategies with business objectives.
Expertise in building a skilled and productive workforce, retention, employee engagement, and talent strategy.
Demonstrated experience leading teams, driving culture, and employee engagement.
Strong communication skills including the ability to connect and support employees at all levels and senior management.
Proven success collaborating with a senior executive team and having established credible business partner relationships.
Track record of decision‑making and personal values in line with company culture and values.
Excellent team player with the ability and willingness to pitch in as needed in areas outside one’s own core expertise.
HR MANAGEMENT
Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, evaluate and continuously improve the organization’s HR function and performance.
Supervise, motivate and develop a team of dedicated HR professionals; encourage their growth in skills, knowledge, and professional standing.
Oversee recruiting function, participate actively with hires deemed critical and endeavor to shorten time frame between job postings and hiring closure.
Work with CEO in updating performance review and progressive discipline process ensuring managers are trained and following set expectations.
Liaison with outside legal counsel as needed.
Develop appropriate HR analytics and metrics to drive workforce effectiveness and HR efficiency. Further, develop and manage the Company’s wellness program for employees.
Develop and update Company safety plan and programs in accordance with regulatory standards, driving safety enhancements throughout the company.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Develop framework for bonus compensation for all employees tied to performance metrics and strategic goals of the company.
Recommend framework of senior executive compensation based on long‑term incentives.
Benchmark Company compensation paid relative to local and national indices for equivalent positions.
Evaluate the Company’s benefits and assist in administration of various employee programs. Review benefits plan design and performance, ensuring plans support corporate objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning, Culture and Professional Development:
Develop strategic staffing plans and programs to identify and develop talent within and outside the organization for all positions.
Assist CEO in guiding all managers to strategic goal execution and organizational alignment.
Participate and help facilitate Senior Leadership needs: offering insights in development of departmental initiatives in implementation of Company’s strategic plan and vision.
Develop HR planning models to identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps.
Consult with management and team members to improve working relationships, build employee morale, increase productivity, and retention.
Oversee and manage administration of employee surveys to promote employee engagement, department alignment, and realization of higher employee ratings of Company based on survey results over time.
Required Skills EDUCATION
Bachelor is Degree in Human Resources, or related field.
Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification in Human Resources
Required Experience SPECIFIC JOB EXPERIENCE
Minimum of (10) years human resources experience
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
