We are seeking a qualified IT Technician for an onsite position in Plainfield, IL.
Job Description ATTENTION MILITARY AFFILIATED JOB SEEKERS – This position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. All positions are onsite, unless otherwise stated.
CompucomStaffing, a division of CompuCom® Systems, Inc., provides support and career guidance throughout engagements. As an IT Technician, you will provide diagnostic evaluation of end‑user needs and respond to incidents in a timely manner to resolve issues for customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assure continuity of computer systems for all users
Support mobile hardware (Apple, Samsung) and telecommunications services
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain telephone systems and other equipment (printers, scanners, copiers)
Provide support for Google Workspace applications
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems with operating systems, hardware, and software
Set up equipment for employees or assist with moving equipment
Coordinate with software and hardware vendors to resolve technical issues
Develop training materials and procedures, and train users on proper use of hardware and software
Provide timely solutions for issues that arise with client applications
Log and track support calls in client Incident Management system; prioritize and, when needed, elevate tickets to ensure customer satisfaction
Identify support call trends, develop documentation to address common problems, and report increasing trends or unusual activity to management
Recommend software and hardware changes to improve computer capabilities
Operate standard office equipment (phones, fax, photocopier, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education Required Associate’s degree
Skills and Qualifications
Associate’s degree or technical certifications in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field – preferred
1–3+ years of related work experience
Proficiency with MS Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, Microsoft Office 2010/2013, and Google Workspace
Ability to support Apple and Android mobile phones
Experience with PDF editing, AutoDesk applications – plus
Knowledge of AWS, RingCentral, Telecommunication, Meraki, Ricoh printers, Lexmark printers – plus
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb; lift and move items over 50 pounds
Excellent telephone presence and organized follow‑up skills
Multitasking ability; sense of urgency; positive attitude
User‑centric, service‑oriented mindset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organizational skills
Decision‑making skills and initiative
Wage Range
Hourly rate between $24.75 and $36.00, based on geography, skills, experience, and qualifications
