Title:

E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation)/Controls Technician

Location:

Toledo, OH

Shift:

2nd shift (2:30pm-11:30pm, M-F)

Salary:

$42.91/hr with .50 shift differential

E&I/Controls Technician Responsibilities

Responsible for installing/modifying/repairing electrical control components for manufacturing equipment

Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install and repair electrical parts, equipment and systems

Safely work with Multiphase Medium Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems

Troubleshoot and resolve control networks, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo and control problems

Assist Engineering/Operations with modifying PLC programs to support production

Assist Engineering with updating controls hardware and firmware

Assist Engineering/Operations with continuous improvements projects

Assist with equipment commissioning

Perform prescribed Preventative Maintenance.

Maintain accurate and complete records, document all work performed appropriately, document engineering documents for changes/updates as required.

Assist with maintaining current control software database

Assist in maintaining electrical controls parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to Supervisor

Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information

Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s

Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices

Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area

Follow all required work safe practices (wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.)

Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area

Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

About you

Associates Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering

5 years experience in a manufacturing environment

Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills and knowledge of all crafts, including mechanical, electrical, and technical

Machinist skills, welding, light fabrication and electrical skills are a plus

PLC troubleshooting or understanding

Basic understanding of computer functions
