PRIMARY PURPOSE
Maintain the operation of all District facilities as required to meet department responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution (required)
Must have valid Texas Driver's license and satisfactory driving record
General knowledge of commercial maintenance and carpentry
Commercial Painting and Flooring Experience Preferred
Mechanical Aptitude and ability to learn
Familiar with safe operation of power tools
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Maintain and repair District physical facilities and structures and complete programmed maintenance procedures
Maintain all physical buildings and structures including concrete, flooring, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and commercial carpentry, as directed by department foreman
Coordinate, organize and complete daily assignments, assuming responsibility for proper documentation regarding assigned tasks, works orders, and procurement of supplies
Initiate work orders within assigned zones as needed
Assume responsibility for daily directives as given by appropriate administrators
Abide by all AISD policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Assume responsibility for care of assigned service vehicle, tools, and equipment
Assume responsibility for personal timekeeping and communication and documentation of absences
Perform all other duties as assigned to serve the needs of the District as determined by departmental leadership
Maintain effective and positive communication and rapport within assigned department and with all other areas of contact
WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor and outdoor work environment
Exposure to extreme temperature ranges
Significant walking, standing, climbing, lifting, bending, stooping and reaching
Frequent district-wide travel in light duty pick-up truck
