Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of a fast‑moving environment in the inventory cycle. The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the daily management of people within the warehouse shipping function, ensuring company targets and objectives are met while meeting customer requirements and ensuring staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures. This hands‑on position involves housekeeping standards and continual improvement, acts independently at the organizational level, and provides backup for the Production Supervisor. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
Prepare opening/closing procedures for the warehouse.
Lift 50 pounds or greater.
Receive and record new inventory as delivered.
Inspect and sort all inbound/outbound receipts to confirm proper check‑in, processing, and correct location.
Develop and manage metric‑oriented logistics/warehousing/inventory management processes, and measure, analyze, improve and control them.
Knowledge of all customers, employees and contractors, and communicate a clear understanding of customer requirements.
Maintain professional interaction with contractors, vendors, customers and employees.
Assist in pricing and route analysis as needed with Managers.
Understand DOT requirements.
Support Manager in understanding and implementing customer requirements including security, handling, packing, sorting, receiving, loading and delivering.
Operate various equipment including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and box truck to ensure products are staged or stored appropriately.
Requirements
Forklift experience.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
High school degree or equivalent.
Proficiency in MS Office with working knowledge of computers.
Valid driver’s license.
Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the shift.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Able to work independently.
Highly organized and able to store items efficiently.
