Successful candidates demonstrate leadership and mentorship, raise standards, support teammates, and drive editorial vision.
A digital‑first mindset is required; content must perform across KMOV and Gray Media streaming and digital properties.

Daily journalistic output: research, produce, and deliver at least one original act of journalism per day (enterprise, beat, investigative, or field report).
Strong reporting skills: conceive, develop, and execute story ideas independently with thorough sourcing, interviewing, and compelling storytelling.
Equally strong anchoring skills: confident live delivery, integration of reports, and calm, authoritative presence during breaking news.
Deep knowledge of the greater St. Louis community: established contacts, experience covering local issues, and genuine engagement with community events.
Digital‑first producer: comfortable posting and optimizing stories for web and social, creating short‑form video and streaming segments, and repurposing content across platforms.
Willingness to work in the field: frequent field assignments and ability to serve as a Field Anchor when required.
Core responsibilities
Anchor live newscasts consistently and deliver unscripted breaking news coverage with accuracy and composure.
Report daily: develop and execute at least one original story per day for broadcast and digital distribution.
Pitch story ideas and collaborate with producers to turn concepts into executable newscasts, teasers, and promotional items.
Post and optimize stories on KMOV’s website and social platforms; collaborate with digital teams to maximize audience and engagement.
