2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor (4:30pm-1:00am)
Job Summary: The 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the teams that pick and stage finished orders for loading. The supervisor is also responsible for the team palletizing and wrapping partial orders for shipment. This role ensures efficient and accurate shipping / receiving operations, adherence to safety standards, and proper handling of all associated paperwork. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Description Reports To: Warehouse Operations Supervisor | Grade Level: 10 (Exempt)
Key Responsibilities
Team Management:
Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff involved in loading operations.
Schedule and coordinate shifts to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Picking and Staging Operations:
Oversee picking, storage, and security of products at all locations.
Monitor picking, staging, and put‑away processes.
Ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
Reconcile reports and exceptions daily.
Resolve discrepancies.
Monitor paperwork flow for timely data entry.
Report damaged or incorrectly shipped merchandise to the appropriate department.
Paperwork and Documentation:
Verify and process all paperwork related to picking and staging activities, including manifests, load sheets, and bills of lading.
Maintain accurate records of shipments.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
Communication:
Open communication with other departments, such as production, quality control, and transportation, to ensure smooth operations.
Provide regular updates to Warehouse Leadership on 2nd shift activities and any issues.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
Proven experience (1–3 years) in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, particularly loading/unloading/shipping procedures.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
Strong leadership and team‑building skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safety and compliance.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the warehouse.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, if necessary.
Working Conditions
Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
