Physical Requirements:
Standing or walking with objects up to 25 lbs; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods; repetitive motion. May be exposed to loud noises, fumes, confined spaces, and/or weather and temperature extremes while reviewing a job site(s) or traveling to/from various job sites. May require climbing ladders to roof‑top elevations.
Shift:
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday). Note: UK HealthCare operates 24/7 – 365; hours may vary for emergencies.
Job Summary The Facilities Outage Coordinator assists the Facilities Outage Superintendent in coordinating scheduled facilities and utilities outages. Primary responsibilities include:
Overseeing services provided by outside or in‑house sources for building operations (gas, water, electricity, fire suppression, fire alarm systems, etc.) for Facilities Management Medical Center.
Collaborating with requesters to enter or generate utility outage requests in the system and defining the scope of tasks to be completed.
Estimating time, materials, and staffing for outages.
Collecting and capturing all data associated with the requisition and completion of planned outages.
Investigating related systems to be isolated by reviewing facilities’ files and/or as‑builds.
Compiling information and verifying in the field to confirm and document outage impact and scope.
Coordinating outage timing with customers, end‑users, affected parties, contractors, and others.
Coordinating with managers, supervisors, superintendents, infection control, hospital safety, security, engineering controls, administration, emergency transport, campus utilities, campus heating/cooling, and parking.
Sending final notification of approval, including date/time and pertinent details, to affected parties as directed by the Superintendent.
Additional responsibilities include:
Overseeing utility outage executions across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, or other energy sources.
Following a plan of action to accomplish tasks.
Developing alternate means of operation during an outage if necessary.
Maintaining time schedules and addressing situational issues.
Assisting in providing direction and coordination to resolve issues.
Coordinating with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors during planning and execution.
Keeping the Superintendent, management, and other concerned parties informed of outages.
Serving as the 24/7 point of contact for all contractors during emergency or unscheduled outages.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities MS Windows/Outlook; KRONOS; SAP; Tridium. Minimum of four (4) years related facilities maintenance including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, and repair; knowledge of building and construction materials.
Driver’s License – Preferred Preferred but not required.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No.

Bachelor’s Degree + 4 Years – Preferred
Associate’s Degree + 6 Years
High School Diploma + 8 Years
