About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of connecting children and families to the joy and power of reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, collaborating with the Board of Directors, and overseeing the organization's programs, operations, and financial management. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in nonprofit management, including fundraising, staff development, and community impact. The Executive Director will be expected to promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability, and to represent the organization with both agility and executive presence.
Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include leading fundraising efforts, developing and implementing strategic plans, and ensuring the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to the mission of the company, a passion for literacy and reading, and the ability to build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and community partners. They should be adept at problem-solving, and resourceful, and have strong operational and financial acumen. The role also involves serving as the primary spokesperson, leading communication and public engagement efforts, and fostering strong partnerships across diverse, multilingual, and multigenerational audiences. The Executive Director will be a community-connected leader, knowledgeable about education, children, and families, and will work to strengthen the organization's visibility and impact.
