We are seeking an experienced
Pharmacy Manager
for the
Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy
at a
hospital-based Cancer Center
in
Fredericksburg, Virginia . This role offers
contract-to-hire potential
and is ideal for a pharmacist with
strong IV compounding and chemotherapy experience
who is ready to manage a small infusion team while maintaining high-quality patient care. Position Overview The Infusion Pharmacy Manager will oversee the operations of the outpatient infusion pharmacy, including staffing, workflow management, and ensuring safe and accurate compounding of IV and chemo medications. This role does
not require PIC designation
but involves direct management of the OP infusion pharmacy staff. Schedule Monday Friday
Work hours: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
No on-call or weekend coverage required
Practice Setting Acute care hospital

44 infusion chairs, staffed by 23 pharmacists and 3 technicians

Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of the outpatient infusion pharmacy
Staff and manage infusion pharmacy team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety
Supervise preparation and verification of IV and chemotherapy medications
Ensure compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulations
Maintain accurate records and documentation for compounded medications
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to support patient treatment plans
Required Qualifications Active Virginia Pharmacist License
Strong experience in
IV compounding and chemotherapy
Leadership and team management experience in a hospital or infusion setting
Proficiency with pharmacy systems and automation (Epic, Pyxis preferred)
