We are seeking an experienced
IV/Infusion Pharmacist
for a
13-week contract
with strong potential for
contract-to-hire
in a busy infusion pharmacy setting in
Chicago, Illinois . This is a great opportunity for pharmacists with solid sterile compounding experience who are looking for stability, growth, and hands-on infusion work in a professional clinical environment. Position Overview The IV/Infusion Pharmacist is responsible for the safe preparation, dispensing, and oversight of sterile and non-sterile medications while supporting patients and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals. This role plays a key part in ensuring medication safety, compliance, and high-quality patient care within an infusion pharmacy setting. Schedule Monday Friday
Day shift (8:30 AM 5:00 PM)
13-week contract with potential contract-to-hire
Key Responsibilities Verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with state and federal regulations
Prepare and compound sterile IV medications following aseptic technique and established procedures
Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, dosing accuracy, and potential drug interactions
Monitor medication usage patterns and patient compliance
Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation
Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, storage, and interactions
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
Identify and resolve drug-related problems in collaboration with physicians and healthcare staff
Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to support patient care
Required Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
Active and unrestricted Illinois Pharmacist License
Prior IV/Infusion or sterile compounding experience
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, sterile preparation standards, and medication safety practices
