Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity seeks dedicated Special Education Teachers to support diverse K-12 classrooms across elementary, middle, and high school levels. The roles are within a special education cooperative focused on providing tailored educational experiences for students with complex learning needs, including autism and severe/profound disabilities. Positions available: Elementary STAR (Autism) Classroom (Elementary & Intermediate Age Groups) Middle School STAR (Autism) Classroom Multi-Needs High School Classroom (Serving students with severe and profound disabilities, requiring additional staff support) CONNECT Program Classroom (Transition program for ages 18-22) Location: Joliet, IL Employment Type: Contract, School Calendar Year (CSY) Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction based on students' unique learning plans and needs. Collaborate with staff and specialists to create inclusive, supportive learning environments. Implement behavior intervention strategies and progress monitoring tailored to students' goals. Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development. Provide transition planning support for students in the CONNECT program to promote independence. Qualifications and Experience: Valid ISBE PEL Special Education Teaching License or equivalent certification. Experience working with students with autism and multiple disabilities preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt instruction creatively to meet diverse student needs.
