Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An Elementary School Special Education Teacher position is available in Chicago, IL, for the current school year through June 2026. This full-time contract role requires dedication to supporting students with special needs in an elementary school setting. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to provide inclusive classroom experiences. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction methods as needed. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development and classroom activities. Create a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters student growth and independence. Qualifications and Experience: Certification in Special Education and experience teaching at the elementary level. Strong understanding of special education laws and individualized instruction techniques. Effective communication skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to manage classroom behavior and provide a nurturing educational atmosphere.
