is seeking an experienced
Specialty Pharmacist
to support patients requiring complex, high-cost medications. This is a highly clinical, patient-facing role designed for pharmacists who have worked
specifically within a designated specialty pharmacy environment
and understand the access and reimbursement challenges tied to specialty drugs. This opportunity offers strong long-term potential for the right candidate. Assignment Details Start: ASAP
Duration: 13-week contract with strong potential for contract-to-hire or direct hire
Schedule: MondayFriday, daytime hours
Setting: Specialty pharmacy (rare/orphan drugs)
Compensation: Competitive weekly pay

Key Responsibilities Verify, review, and dispense specialty medications for rare and orphan disease states
Provide high-touch clinical counseling and ongoing patient support
Collaborate with providers, payers, and internal access teams to navigate coverage determinations and prior authorizations
Assist patients with financial assistance pathways including grants, copay programs, rebates, and manufacturer support
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and specialty pharmacy regulations
Accurately document clinical and dispensing activities in the pharmacy system
Maintain consistent communication with patients and provider offices throughout the therapy lifecycle
Required Qualifications Active Arizona Pharmacist license, clear and in good standing
Recent experience working in a
designated specialty pharmacy
(specialty retail and/or specialty mail order required)
Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy workflows, access processes, and reimbursement
Experience supporting patients on high-cost specialty or rare/orphan medications
Excellent clinical judgment and patient counseling skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills in a high-touch environment
Experience with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) or similar specialty pharmacy systems
