Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialty pharmacy focused on
rare and orphan disease therapies
is seeking experienced
Coverage/Access Pharmacy Technicians
to support patients, providers, and payers through complex approval and access workflows. This role is ideal for technicians who have worked
specifically within a designated specialty pharmacy or specialty PBM
and are comfortable managing high-cost medications that require intensive coordination and follow-up. This is a
high-touch, patient-centered position
with strong potential to transition into a long-term or permanent role. Assignment Details Start: ASAP
Duration: 13-week contract with potential contract-to-hire or direct hire
Schedule: MondayFriday, daytime hours
Setting: Specialty pharmacy (rare/orphan drugs)
Compensation: Competitive weekly pay
Benefits: Full-time benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc.
Key Responsibilities Handle benefit investigations, coverage determinations, and prior authorizations for specialty medications
Coordinate with insurance plans, providers, and patients to secure approval for high-cost therapies
Assist patients with financial support options including grants, copay assistance, rebates, and manufacturer programs
Maintain frequent, professional communication in a high-touch environment
Accurately document all activity within the pharmacy system
Collaborate with pharmacists and access teams to ensure timely therapy initiation
Required Qualifications Active national pharmacy technician certification (CPhT/PTCB required)
Active Arizona pharmacy technician license
Recent experience working in a
designated specialty pharmacy or specialty PBM
Strong background in coverage, access, benefit investigation, and prior authorization processes
Experience supporting rare/orphan or other high-cost specialty medications
Excellent communication skills with both patients and provider offices
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex cases
Experience with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) or similar specialty pharmacy systems
