An opportunity is available for two experienced specialty pharmacists skilled in managing rare and orphan drugs within a specialty pharmacy setting. This contract role demands expertise beyond retail pharmacy, specifically involving high-touch communication and clinical support to help patients and providers navigate drug approvals and cost-assistance programs. Location: Gilbert, AZ Type: Contract position, approximately 13 weeks with potential for direct hire Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours Key Responsibilities: Dispense and manage specialty medications for patients with rare diseases Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to ensure proper drug therapy management Assist with navigating complex drug approval processes, payment assistance, grants, rebates, and related patient support programs Provide high-level clinical consultation and communication to optimize patient outcomes Qualifications: Proven experience working specifically in a designated specialty pharmacy setting Strong knowledge of rare/orphan drug handling and patient assistance programs Excellent clinical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage sensitive cases requiring thorough attention and detailed follow-up This role is ideal for pharmacists who thrive in a specialized environment, delivering comprehensive support for complex therapies while liaising effectively between healthcare teams and patients.
