Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opening opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to work with middle school students in a self-contained classroom setting. This full-time contract position focuses on supporting students with mild functional skill needs. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 16 students and collaborating closely with an Instructional Assistant. The position is designed for the current school year and requires an ASAP start. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of middle school students with mild functional skill challenges Provide instruction and support within a mostly self-contained classroom environment Collaborate with an Instructional Assistant to ensure an effective learning experience for students Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Coordinate with staff and families to support student success and inclusion Support students as they attend elective classes outside of the self-contained room Qualifications and Experience: Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience working with middle school students in special education settings, particularly with mild functional skill impairments Ability to manage a self-contained classroom and collaborate with paraeducators or teaching assistants Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Location: Carmel, IN Position Type: Full-time Contract (School Year) This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on middle school students educational journeys by providing targeted support within a specialized setting.
