A school district in Burbank, IL, is seeking four dedicated Special Education Teachers to serve K-12 students through a contracted school year assignment. Opportunities are available across multiple specialized classrooms, each offering a unique teaching environment focused on meeting diverse student needs. Available Positions: Elementary STAR (Autism) Classroom: Serving elementary and intermediate-aged students in an autism-focused setting. Middle School STAR Classroom: Supporting middle school students with autism through tailored instruction. Multi-Needs High School Classroom: Working with students with severe and profound needs, requiring additional staff support to enhance instructional engagement. CONNECT (18-22 Transition Programs) Classroom: Facilitating transition programming for young adults preparing for life beyond school. Location: Burbank, IL Duration: School Year Contract Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs. Provide specialized instruction and support in autism-focused and multi-needs classrooms. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote student progress and engagement. Monitor and document student performance and communicate effectively with families and staff. Qualifications: Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (PEL) with a special education endorsement. Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings, preferably including autism and multi-needs populations. Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills. Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
