Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher serving K-12 students within a vibrant school district located in the Denver area. Multiple assignments are available across elementary, middle, and P-8 schools, each focusing on unique special education needs such as affective needs, learning support, and significant cognitive challenges. Positions are full-time (35+ hours per week) with contract duration extending through the end of the 2025-2026 school year. Key responsibilities include: Delivering specialized instruction and support tailored for students with diverse special education needs Collaborating closely with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies to maximize educational outcomes Creating positive, inclusive classroom environments conducive to learning and growth Desired qualifications and experience: Active Colorado DOE Certification in Special Education Experience teaching special education students (0-2 years to 10+ years considered) Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple school settings and age groups Locations and Assignments: Rocky Mountain Elementary School: Affective Needs Teacher (Jan 5, 2026 End of Year) Thunder Vista P-8: Learning Specialist (ASAP End of School Year) Century Middle School: Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher (ASAP End of School Year) Thornton Middle School: Learning Specialist (ASAP, minimum 3 months with possibility to extend) Benefits and perks include working within supportive school environments focused on inclusive education practices and opportunities for professional growth in a high-demand region.
