An elementary school in Kinston, NC, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract position during the current school year (CSY). This role provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives by delivering specialized education in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each students unique needs. Deliver instruction and support to students with diverse learning disabilities within the elementary school setting. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster a cohesive and inclusive learning environment. Manage a classroom effectively, addressing behavior and learning challenges with patience and professionalism. Complete extensive makeup work due to previous coverage by substitute teachers throughout the year. Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in necessary meetings and evaluations. Qualifications and Experience: Valid teaching certification with a focus on Special Education. Experience working with elementary-aged students requiring specialized instructional support. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage substantial makeup instructional work. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school personnel and parents. Commitment to student growth and fostering a positive classroom culture. Location: One site in Kinston, North Carolina.
