Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An elementary school in Alamogordo, NM, is seeking a licensed New Mexico Special Education Teacher to support students with mild to moderate disabilities in grades K-5. This full-time, contract position within a resource room setting offers a rewarding opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of approximately 36 students in a smaller school environment. The role requires delivering both push-in and pull-out services tailored to individual student needs. Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Providing specialized instruction in both resource room and inclusive classroom settings. Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success. Monitoring and documenting student progress toward educational goals. Managing caseload and related administrative duties with a full-time equivalent of 0.94. Qualifications and desired experience: Current New Mexico Special Education teaching license. Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education. Ability to implement both push-in and pull-out instructional models effectively. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
