The caseload includes approximately 36 students with mild to moderate special education needs, offering a manageable and impactful teaching environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction in resource room settings tailored to individual student needs Implement push-in and pull-out support to assist students within general education classrooms Manage an elementary caseload focused on K-5th grade students with mild to moderate severity levels Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to create and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations Qualifications: Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching license Experience with resource room teaching and differentiated instruction methods Ability to effectively manage a full-time caseload of approximately 36 students Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with a diverse school community Location: Elementary school in Mescalero, New Mexico This contract position offers a supportive environment in one of the smaller schools, enabling personalized attention to students. The full-time role has a fractional full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.94.
