An elementary school located in La Luz, NM is seeking a licensed New Mexico Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated support to students in grades K-5. This full-time contract position offers an opportunity to work within a resource room and deliver tailored services on a push-in and pull-out basis to a diverse caseload of students with mild to moderate special education needs. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support an elementary caseload of approximately 36 students with mild to moderate disabilities Provide specialized instruction and resource room support in compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Implement push-in and pull-out services to meet individual student needs Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments and promote student success Monitor student progress, complete required documentation, and participate in planning meetings Maintain an FTE status of approximately 0.94, ensuring consistent engagement throughout the school year Desired Qualifications: Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching license Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5) in resource and inclusive settings Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions for mild to moderate disabilities Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families Effective communication, organization, and time management skills Benefits of this role include engaging in a smaller school atmosphere that fosters close-knit collaboration and personalized student support.
